GDI

GDI (also known as "God Damn Independent") is a short-hand descriptor for those college students who do not participate in (i.e., are "independent" of) the Greek system. At UF, it is used interchangably with "Independent," but tends to have a more emphatic connotation.

Alternatively, GDI can serve as counter-weight term to that of Keys (members of Florida Blue Key). That is, we often see a Greek vs. Independent or FBK vs. GDI distinction being made.
