Senate President

The Senate President is the Senate's presiding officer. The gavel they wield during a session can determine order, and thus sometimes vote outcomes. But given that the President Pro-Tempore runs the R&A committee and thus sets the agenda and presides over appointments, the power of the Senate President has more to do with its prestige and its ability to create ad-hoc committees.

Several Senate Presidents have gone on to run for Student Body President, but it's not always a direct path to get there. (One former Senate President became Honor Court Chancellor before becoming Student Body President.)
