Senate President Pro Tempore

The Senate President Pro Tempore has a dual role, both as a temporary presiding officer in the Senate President's absence, and as chair of the Senate Replacement and Agenda Committee, which decides on appointments to vacant committee slots (including chairmanships), as well as vacant Senate seats. The President Pro Tempore is also a likely candidate to replace the Senate President during the next election for that position.
